Courtney Normand

“PowerHouse took our ballot campaign to the next level, blanketing the state with positive messaging about the benefits of comprehensive sex education that not only helped us win on Election Day, but have had lasting effects, raising public awareness and support.”

Challenge

Right-wing extremist groups tried to force an anti-science agenda into public schools by restricting access to medically accurate information and the skills young people need to protect their health. They sent a referendum to the ballot, forcing Planned Parenthood, ACLU and other supporters of comprehensive sex education to quickly form a yes campaign.

Winning a statewide ballot campaign to implement comprehensive, science-based sexual education in public schools, defeating extremist misinformation and opposition that scapegoated trans youth.
