Client Win: Washington Low Income Housing Alliance

A million Washington state families, veterans, older people, and other renters will soon have protection from rent gouging thanks to years of hard work by the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance!

For the first time in this state's history, it will be illegal for landlords to deliver unpredictable, egregious predatory rent hikes that can push people out of their homes and into cars, shelters, or tents.

Is the new law perfect? Nope. But it's a light for Washingtonians during a particularly dark time in our nation's history. The Governor has yet to sign it, but we are counting this chicken as hatched. Congratulations to our clients at WLIHA! 

Not-So-Humble Brag

PowerHouse's team - particularly Kristin Hyde and Ben Chapman - worked closely with WLIHA over the last 3 legislative sessions for this huge win. We landed dozens of opeds, letters to the editor, editorials, press events, and reporter briefings. In partnership with Ravenna Strategies, we generated tens of thousands of emails to lawmakers using targeted digital ads and petitions to help win the final votes on this ground-breaking law.
